India emerged triumphant in another ICC event as they beat New Zealand in the 2025 Champions Trophy final by four wickets in Dubai on March 9. It was a combined effort from Rohit Sharma and his men as the team was under a slight bit of pressure while chasing a tricky target of 252 on a sluggish track offering a lot of assistance to spinners.
Though both bowlers and batters made contributions, the fielding was slightly rusty by both the teams. For India, the two players who impressed the most were skipper Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. They put in some athletic efforts and kept the energy alive during the match.
The duo was also nominated for the Best Fielder Medal by India fielding coach T Dilip. Dilip elaborated how Rohit showed commitment on the field and ALSO praised Jadeja for cutting the angles on the filed and sending rocket throws to the stumps.
The medal was eventually provided to Jadeja, who accepted it warmly and hugged coach Dilip after receiving it. The 36-year-old also posed with both his winners' medal and best fielder medal.
