The ongoing second Test between India and New Zealand has been full of ups and downs for the hosts. Having lost the first Test of the series in Bengaluru, India conceded 259 runs in the first innings of the second Test and only managed to amass 156 in response.

In the second innings with the bat, New Zealand scored 255 runs, further enhancing their lead and giving India a target of 359 runs to chase down. However, a moment from the latter stages of the second innings quickly went viral.

The dismissal of New Zealand’s William O’Rourke caught the attention of the fans rather quickly. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja pulled off a MS Dhoni-esque moment to run out O’Rourke. In the 70th over of New Zealand’s second innings, on the fourth ball of the over, as Glenn Phillips hit the ball towards Washington Sundar, both batters decided to go for two runs.

However, O’Rourke showed no urgency in going for the second run, and as Jadeja collected the ball, he instantly redirected it towards the stumps, dismissing O’Rouke.
