The popular festival of Holi is being celebrated on March 14, 2025 across the world. The festival of colours, which holds special significance in the Hindu culture, will be followed by the biggest extravaganza of cricket, with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on the beckoning. In a bid to prepare themselves for the tournament, the teams have started their training camps. Among them, Kolkata Knight Riders are in their home town to kick-start the campaign with the tournament opener on March 22.
In what seems to be an off day at the training camp, KKR players were seen celebrating Holi by playing with Gulaal. Star cricketer Rinku Singh seemed to be the most joyous personality in the Knight Riders' set-up for enjoying the festivities with extreme excitement. The franchise uploaded a video of Rinku's Holi celebrations by poolside of the team hotel on social media, which has quickly gone viral on the internet.

Rinku seeks comeback
Rinku Singh became a household name for his IPL 2023 blitz when he chased down 30 runs in the final over, by smacking Gujarat Titans' Yash Dayal for five sixes at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. That turned out to be a breakout season for the Aligarh-born, with 474 runs at an average of 59.25 and a staggering striking rate of 149.52. He also got to make his India debut shortly after, and did similar impressive performances in the middle order for the national team as well.
The previous edition, though, was an underwhelming one for the KKR star. He played 15 games in IPL 2024, but could muster only 168 runs at a poor average of 18.66. Compared to four in 2023, he could not get a single fifty-plus score in the title-winning season for the Knight Riders. However, he will be confident to turn up fresh as ever, and garner runs aplenty with his marauding blade.
Notably, KKR will face the opening match of the tournament against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, an opposition they carry an age-old rivalry with. This mouth-watering clash will be held on Saturday, March 22 at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
