Watch: Rishabh Pant hugs Virat Kohli after latter survives close call on Day 4 in Kanpur
Virat Kohli scored 47 runs in 35 deliveries in the first innings against Bangladesh.
Team India have wreaked havoc against Bangladesh on Day 4 of the second Test. Both sides locked horns at the Green Park in Kanpur, and after a few hours of play on Day 1, the match was not possible on Day 2 and 3 due to rain and the wet outfield.
However, Day 4 came with clear skies, and as Bangladesh continued their innings, the side was limited to a score of 233 runs in the first innings. Coming out to bat with a trail of 233 runs, India got to work right away. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma scored 72 and 23 runs, respectively.
Furthermore, Shubman Gill added 39 runs on the board, and amidst the attacking batting, a moment between Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli went viral. Facing Khaled Ahmed, Kohli looked to drive the good-length ball from Ahmed.
However, a thick edge saw the ball fall right beside the pitch. As Kohli started to take a single, he found himself stranded in the middle of the pitch as Rishabh Pant had denied the run. Almost giving up, it was the blunder by Khaled Ahmed who missed the stumps, which gave Kohli a lifeline.
Escaping the mix-up, Kohli was then captured, receiving a hug from Rishabh Pant along with a smile that seemed to settle things down.
