Rishabh Pant is a flamboyant batter when he is out in the middle but he is also quite chirpy behind the wickets. The world knows his response to the ‘babysitter’ sledge in Australia by Tim Paine. He was in his element during the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. When Mominul Haque came into bat, he exclaimed to the bowler, R Ashwin, that an LBW via hitting the batter's helmet was on the cards.
On Day 1 of the Kanpur Test at the Green Park Stadium, Bangladesh had lost their openers, Zakir Hassan and Shadman Islam. Mominul looked in absolute focus on building a partnership with Najmul Hossain Shanto. Pant, to disrupt his concentration, quipped that he could get out with the ball hitting his helmet, pointing to his defence which was adjacent to the stump height.
Here’s the video of Pant’s banter:

Mominul notches up Ton as Bangladesh struggle in first session
Day 2 and Day 3 of the Kanpur Test were called off due to rain and a wet outfield. The weather was conducive on Day 4 as the sun was out in its full glory. Bangladesh who had lost three wickets on Day 1, were made to struggle by the Indian bowlers in the first session of Day 4. The visitors lost three wickets before Lunch with 205 on the board and four wickets in their kitty.

Speaking of Mominul, he was the standout batter for Bangladesh as the southpaw remained unbeaten on 102 off 176 at the end of the first session. Other than Shanto’s 31 off 57, no other Bangladesh batter even crossed the 30-run mark, leaving Mominul in desperate need of a subordinate to tackle mighty Indians.
