Fans were reminded of Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff's glory days when his son Rocky Flintoff displayed batting brilliance, similar to the England legend.
Fans were left stunned and reminiscent of Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff's glory days when his son Rocky Flintoff displayed batting brilliance, similar to the England legend. The 16-year-old showed his powerful stroke-making in a recent match between the Lancashire 2nd XI and Durham 2nd XI, smashing three massive sixes and a half-century before rain intervened.
Rocky seems to have inherited more than just his father's famous name. Playing for Lancashire's second team, the teenager had a resemblance to Freddie's trademark aggressive batting style, especially while playing the pull shots. Incidentally, the match at Old Trafford was also graced by Rocky's older brother Corey, 18, turning out for Lancashire.

Andrew Flintoff makes his return to cricket
With a distinctive short-arm pull shot that brought back memories of Flintoff's style of play, he launched three towering maximums over the ropes, in addition to a couple of boundaries. Batting at No 5, Rocky hit a sublime 78-ball half-century and ended unbeaten on 50. He guided Lancashire to 391 runs in their first innings before rain stopped the play, forcing the match to end in a draw.
Meanwhile, the 2005 Ashes hero made a comeback after his near-fatal Top Gear accident in 2022. At 46, he returned as an unpaid coach for the England one-day team, joining them during their series against New Zealand. In November, Flintoff took a significant step by being named the head coach for the Northern Superchargers in the upcoming The Hundred tournament.
