All dreams came crashing down for the Indian team as well as a billion people supporting the Men in Blue in ODI World Cup Final. Led by Rohit Sharma, Team India failed to keep their invincible run and was outclassed by Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The loss came out as a huge heartbreak to all India fans given the incredible support they had lent to the team. The heartbreak however must be even more for the players who gave their all and still came on the wrong side of the result. Rohit Sharma for example broke down while shaking hands with Australia players after losing the match. The video of the incident has gone viral.

Here's the video of Rohit Sharma breaking down:

All downhill for India after great start by Rohit

The Indian captain has been leading the team from the front in this world tournament. He has been playing an aggressive brand of cricket all throughout the ODI World Cup 2023 and continued his momentum into this match as well. The right-hand batter made 47 off 31 with 4 fours and 3 sixes.

After Rohit got out to Maxwell, however, Team India struggled to get going. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul struck up a decent partnership in the middle but that wasn't enough to take India to a defendable total. India posted just 240 runs on the board in the first innings.

Coming onto chase Australia struggled a bit early on but once Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne found the groove and as the pitch became easier to bat on, it was over for India. In the end, Australia won the match quite comfortably with 6 wickets and 42 balls to spare, thereby winning their 6th ODI World Cup title.
