India's captain Rohit Sharma, recently made a fan's birthday extra special with an unexpected encounter in Mumbai. Sharma is on a short break from international duties as the Indian team is currently engaged in a T20I series against Bangladesh.

Sharma has been enjoying some well-deserved free time following the 2-0 Test series victory over Bangladesh. The Indian skipper was spotted driving his luxurious Lamborghini Urus in Mumbai when a female fan approached his car at a red light. Upon knowing from the fan's friend that it was her birthday, the 37-year-old extended his warm wishes and shook hands with the birthday girl.

Meanwhile, Rohit will soon return to lead India in the upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand, scheduled from October 16 to November 5. The series is very important for the hosts as they are eyeing a spot in next year's World Test Championship final at Lord's. The Indian team needs just three more victories this season to qualify.

Recently, the Nagpur-born also inaugurated a cricket academy in Karjat. He assured the fans present at the event that this brand-new facility in Maharashtra will produce the next generation of superstars.

"Now that we've opened the academy in Karjat. I assure you, next Gill, Jaiswal, and Bumrah will come out from here," Sharma said.

Rohit Sharma looked at his usual best in the last Test he played against Bangladesh in Kanpur. Despite not being able to convert his score into a big one, he gave a sturdy start to the team with his crazy 23 off 11 to push India to win the series in less than 3 days.
