Indian skipper Rohit Sharma returned to form with a brilliant century in the second ODI against England, in Cuttack, on Sunday, February 9. His innings guided the hosts to a crucial win and silenced the critics ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.

However, during the game, Rohit lost his cool at the DJ playing music during a crucial phase of the match. After a brief halt in play due to a floodlight failure, the match resumed, but the DJ continued playing music. This irritated the opener, who was focused on regaining concentration after the break.

"Band kar b******d," cameras caught Sharma angrily shouting at the DJ.

Notably, Rohit Sharma, who had been struggling with form in recent months, finally found his rhythm in this match. He hammered a 119 off 90 balls, laced with 12 fours and 7 sixes. His knock not only helped India win the game by four wickets but also sealed the three-match series, with one more game left.

The Nagpur-born's knock, his first ODI century since the 2023 World Cup, saw him surpass legendary Australian skipper Ricky Ponting’s tally of 30 centuries, placing him third on the all-time list, behind only Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. His partnership with Shubman Gill, who scored a valuable half-century, set the base for India's successful chase. Contributions from Shreyas Iyer (44) and Axar Patel (41) helped in India’s win. The veteran batter was awarded the Player of the Match for his heroics.

"It was good, really enjoyed being out there, scoring some runs for the team. Important game, series on the line. I broke it into pieces how I wanted to bat. It's a format that is longer than T20 cricket and a lot shorter than Tests. Still, you need to assess and bat according to the situation. I wanted to stay focused and bat as deep as possible. Looking at the pitch when you play on black soil, the pitch tends to skid on a bit so it's important that you show the full face of the bat. Then they were trying to bowl into the body and not give room so I prepared my plan as well. I accessed the gaps and obviously, I got good support from Gill and then Shreyas," Rohit said during the post-match interview.
