Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped two absolute sitters on Day 4 of the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the first session of the day, the youngster dropped Usman Khawaja, while in the second, he dropped Marnus Labuschagne for 46 at gully. He has been a good fielder for Team India since making his debut but things haven’t gone his way on Day 4.

Notably, Akash Deep bowled back of a length delivery and interestingly, Labuschagne decided to play it instead of leaving and ended up getting a nick. It was a regulation catch for Jaiswal, who spilled it and captain Rohit Sharma was infuriated with that. He fisted in the air in anger while keeper-batter Rishabh Pant comforted Jaiswal, who looked extremely disappointed.

Meanwhile, the wicket was extremely valuable to India, as they were eyeing to bundle Australia early. Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah cleaned the middle order by clinching back-to-back wickets of Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey, while Mohammed Siraj dismissed Steve Smith. Labuschagne was the last recognised batter and had India picked up his wicket, the hosts could have been bundled earlier.

Watch Rohit Sharma's reaction below:

Rohit himself is under pressure as there were talks of him getting sacked after the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Amid that, India bowled brilliantly on Day 4 and a win in Melbourne will help them get an inch closer to the World Test Championship finale and will also seal the series for team India, who are the defending winners. The pressure might have prompted Rohit to lose his calm and react angrily.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has dropped three catches in the second innings on Day 4 leaving Rohit Sharma furious. With this Marnus Labushagne has come in to bat in Australia's second innings with some luck. Currently, Australia are 135 with the loss of 6 wickets, leading with 240 runs.

Labuschagne meanwhile went on to register his 23rd half-century in Test cricket. India’s immediate goal will be to break the ongoing partnership and pick up the remaining wickets to give themselves a chance to get the job done with the bat. In case, Australia manages to survive the day, the visitors will find it extremely difficult to find a result in their favour.
