Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma was recently chased by a sea of fans after his practice session in Mumbai and the video has quickly gone viral. Sharma, who was practicing at the Reliance Corporate Park in Mumbai, had to rush to his car, as a storm of fans were running behind him for potentially getting a picture or an autograph from their idol.

During the same practice session, many fans had intruded the practice area in the hope of getting a glimpse of the 37-year-old. Sharma was seen requesting the supporters to leave the designated practice area.

Rohit Sharma scored 42 runs in the entire Bangladesh Test series

Meanwhile, Sharma is on a short break from international duties as the young Indian brigade is contesting a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Notably, Sharma has begun preparations for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand, scheduled to begin on October 16 in Bengaluru.

His recent performance in the Test series against Bangladesh in Kanpur, where he scored a quick-fire 23 off 11 balls, helped India secure a series win in less than three days. He, however, couldn't convert his starts into big scores, scoring just 42 runs in the entire series.

The upcoming New Zealand series is important for India as they eye the finals spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle. To secure a spot in the 2025 WTC final at Lord's, India need to win three more matches in this cycle.

In the 2024-25 season, India have eight Test matches remaining to be played which include three Tests against New Zealand and five against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
