The T20 World Cup 2024 champions received a grand reception at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport as thousands of fans gathered in the airport to welcome the winning team. India skipper Rohit Sharma waved the trophy before checking in at ITC Maurya. The management group of ITC arranged a special cake-cutting ceremony for the champions.
The chefs of ITC Maurya designed a special three-tier cake with the hues of orange, blue and white, representing the colours of the Indian flag. The cake was topped with a replica of the T20 World Cup trophy and photos of India’s memorable win at Kensington Oval, Barbados. The players were also wearing special India jerseys designed for the celebration with ‘Champions' inscribed in place of the sponsor's name in India's T20 World Cup jersey.

Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was also spotted cutting the cake later in the day. He received a grand reception from the fans in attendance as they were chanting his name at ITC Maurya.

Team India and their support staff are set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi before flying to Mumbai for a grand celebration. As per reports, they will spend two hours with the Prime Minister and will return to the team hotel before departing for Mumbai..
The team will go to Wankhede Stadium for celebration as a victory lap is scheduled there, which will be followed by an open bus parade at Marine Drive. Thousands of fans are expected to gather in Mumbai for the celebration as the program is expected to end by 9 PM IST.
