In the usual course of events, one would anticipate a batter to feel significant disappointment after being dismissed, especially when bowled through the legs—a cricketing equivalent to a nutmeg in football, widely regarded as a particularly humiliating form of deception. However, such sentiments were not observed in Match 29 of the current iteration of the Maharashtra Premier League. In this encounter, the Ratnagiri Jets, champions of the inaugural edition, clashed with the Puneri Bappa at Pune's MCA International Stadium.
The specific incident occurred during the ninth over of the first innings. It involved the dismissal of Azim Kazi, the left-handed batter of Ratnagiri Jets, who were placed comfortably at 63/1 in 8.2 overs. Leg-spinner, Rohan Kharat, delivering from right-arm over, induced Kazi to attempt a sweep. However, Kazi misjudged the execution considering her yorking himself up, resulting in the ball sneaking through his legs and dislodging the stumps. This dismissal saw Kazi departing after scoring 19 runs from 25 deliveries, inclusive of a couple of boundaries.
Meanwhile, star cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad, who shares a good camaraderie with Kazi, opted for an unusual celebrating, cheekily teasing the dismissed batter. Gaikwad visibly displayed his enthusiasm and competitive spirit, exemplified through an animated display in the middle. Subsequently, while making his way back to the pavilion, the 30-year-old had a wry smile on his face, likely in response to Gaikwad's send-off gesture.

Speaking of the match, Kazi & Co had the last laugh, as they secured a closely-fought victory by six runs against Puneri Bappa. During his stay at the crease, Gaikwad managed an 18-ball-23, falling short in a bid to steer the Bappa to a win.
