The Australian fans booed Mohammed Siraj in the third Test against India at the Gabba. This followed a heated spat between the Indian pacer and Travis Head in the second Test at Adelaide after which, both cricketers were sanctioned by the International Cricket Council. The players hugged after the game and the Australia international noted that he was over the incident but the Gabba crowd didn’t forget as the pacer received strong boos while bowling.

Meanwhile, India won the toss and elected to bowl first in the third Test. The overcast condition and the green deck prompted captain Rohit Sharma to bowl but the Australian team didn’t face much trouble in dealing with the Indian pacers early into the game. Usman Khawaja, who was struggling with form, looked in good touch but it needs to be seen how he manages to convert his good start.

In the meantime, the rain has played spoilsport on two occasions as an early lunch was called on Day 1. The game is expected to be affected by rain on all five days and the teams will have to prepare themselves accordingly. The series is currently poised at 1-1 and the winner of the Gabba Test will take an important lead as both teams are currently fighting for a spot in the World Test Championship finale.

The visitors meanwhile made two changes for the Gabba Test. Harshit Rana, who struggled with form in the Day-Night Test, has been dropped as Akash Deep is back into the playing XI. Apart from that, the team management also dropped Ravichandran Ashwin for Ravindra Jadeja. Interestingly, India played Washington Sundar in the first game, Ashwin in the second and for the third, they preferred Jadeja.

Australia, on the other hand, made only one change to their playing XI. Josh Hazlewood is back after missing the second Test owing to a side strain. The pacer replaced Scott Boland in the playing XI.
