Jammu and Kashmir had a memorable run in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The team created history by beating behemoths like Mumbai and Baroda in their standout season. Moreover, the win against Mumbai was much cherished as seven players of the Indian team were part of Mumbai’s playing XI.
But after reaching the quarter finals, the team faced a tough challenge in the form of Kerala. They posted 280 against Kerala in the first innings. With a deficit of just one run, J&K, with the help of Paras Dogra's 132 runs, provided a target of 399 runs with Kerala finishing at 295/6 in their second innings, securing their place in the semi-finals as they were in the lead in the first innings.
As the team had a stupendous outing dominating the sporting headlines of the country, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association has decided to felicitate the players. One of the members of JKCA Sunil Sethi has already announced that a celebratory function will be held for the players. Moreover, several senior cricketers, who once graced the domestic stage from Jammu and Kashmir, also attended the event and celebrated the young generation's success.
"They have beaten a team like Mumbai in which seven players of the Indian national team were playing. Though they couldn't manage to get a place in the semi-finals, maybe next year they will make it," Sethi said as quoted by ETV Bharat.
