Bangladeshi stalwart, Shakib Al Hasan, has often found himself enmeshed in controversy over the years, primarily due to his on-field demeanour. His aggressive reactions towards opponents, umpires, and in press conferences have consistently contributed to his contentious image.

However, a recent incident in Canada involving Shakib occurred as his team, Bangla Tigers Mississauga, was heading to the team bus after their latest game against the Brampton Wolves was washed out due to incessant rain. This episode was linked to the ongoing events in his home country, Bangladesh.

The 37-year-old, who was elected to the National Assembly led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed, has faced criticism for not addressing the political unrest in Bangladesh. Hasina recently fled the country due to escalating violence.
