WATCH: Shardul Thakur receives customised jersey from Zaheer Khan ahead of 100th IPL match

Shardul Thakur was presented a special jersey by Lucknow Super Giants' mentor and former Indian pacer, Zaheer Khan ahead of appearing in his 100th IPL game. LSG are currently in action against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Match 21 of the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League.

The right-arm medium pacer was honored by the customised No. 100 jersey during the pre-match huddle. He seemed all smiles while soaking up the applause given by his fellow teammates and the support staff.

Notably, LSG is Shardul's sixth franchise in the IPL. Out of the 100 games, majority of them (57) have come while he was associated with Chennai Super Kings from 2018 to 2021 and then 2024. As far as IPL 2025 is concerned, Shardul has scalped seven wickets in four innings so far. He has been on the expensive side though (10.15) up until now.

Speaking of the ongoing game, KKR won the toss and opted to field first. The visitors are off to a scorching start with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh launching a full-throttle attack on the opposition. At the end of the powerplay, LSG had already garnered 59 for the loss of no wickets.

Interestingly, Shardul's best bowling figures in the IPL came in LSG's second game of IPL 2025. His 4/34 off four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad came in a winning cause, with the Rishabh Pant-led side cruising past the finish line by five wickets and 23 deliveries to spare.
