In a clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. SRH, who are coming off a recent win, looked to strengthen their position in the points table, while PBKS, sitting sixth, were eager to build on their previous victory.
The match started with PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan electing to field first after winning the toss. In the third over, SRH opener Travis Head seemed to be in good touch, having hit four boundaries in his 15-ball 21. However, the momentum shifted drastically in the fourth over when Shikhar Dhawan pulled off a brilliant running catch to dismiss Head.
The ball, bowled by Arshdeep Singh, was full and just outside off stump. Head, perhaps looking to hit it over the mid-off fielder, lost his shape and ended up cutting it across the line. The ball went straight up in the air, and Dhawan, stationed at mid-off, had to track it over his shoulder. Keeping his eyes firmly on the ball, Dhawan effortlessly grabbed the catch, much to the delight of his teammates.

PBKS look in a comfortable spot after powerplay
This dismissal proved to be a pivotal moment in the game. It not only removed the in-form batter, Head but also shifted the momentum in favour of PBKS. Earlier in the first ball of the innings, replays showed that Head had gotten a thin edge off his bat while facing Kagiso Rabada's delivery.
However, the PBKS players did not seem keen on reviewing the decision at the time. It was only later revealed that Head had indeed nicked the ball before being dismissed. With the big wicket of Head, SRH lost their second wicket in the same over, as Aiden Markram was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh, leaving the visitors reeling at 27/2 in 4 overs.
In form Abhishek Sharma who was looking to play yet another big innings was dismissed for 16 in the very next over off Sam Curran and this time it was Shashank Singh who was stationed at cover point and dived forward to complete the catch. After the end of the powerplay, the Pat Cummins-led side is batting on 40/3 and needs a crucial partnership to take them out of this situation.
