India took on Bangladesh at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua in the seventh Super Eight fixture of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on June 22. The match witnessed an explosive performance by Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube, whose powerful hitting, including a mammoth 87m six, left fans in awe.
The Men in Blue entered the match with momentum, having won their first game of the Super Eight stage against Afghanistan. Bangladesh, on the other hand, was looking to bounce back after a loss to Australia.
The toss went in Bangladesh's favor, who opted to bowl first. While India remained unchanged, Bangladesh made a strategic move by bringing in Jaker Ali in place of Taskin Ahmed.

Dube's innings of 34 off 24 deliveries proved to be a game-changer for India. Breaking free from a period of poor performances, Dube showed his power-hitting abilities, smashing three towering sixes. The highlight of his knock came in the 16th over against Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
Facing a full delivery outside off-stump, the left-hander cleared his front leg and launched the ball straight down the ground for a humongous 87m six that nearly hit the sightscreen.

This six wasn't just a display of force, it was a statement of intent from Dube. His innings, along with Hardik Pandya's unbeaten half-century, guided India to a formidable total of 196/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Virat Kohli (37 off 28) and Rishabh Pant (36 off 24) also contributed with the bat at the top of the order, while captain Rohit Sharma provided a quick start with 23 off 11 balls. Bangladesh's bowling attack struggled to contain the Indian batters, with Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain bearing the brunt, conceding 48 and 43 runs, respectively.
