Team India (IND) are currently clashing with New Zealand (NZ) in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, in Dubai, in a bid to finish as the Group toppers ahead of the knockout phase of the tournament. Notably, the game is being held in what can be deemed as a Sunday blockbuster, on March 2.

The Men in Blue were invited to bat first but did not have the best of starts as they lost three wickets in quick succession. At that moment, the score was reading just 30. It included the likes of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as well.

However, Team India's number four specialist Shreyas Iyer arrived at the crease and steadied the ship with all rounder Axar Patel. While Iyer made an impressive 79 runs, Patel contributed with a vital 42-run knock to bail the team out of early trouble with their 98-run stand. During his knock, Iyer took the New Zealand bowlers and also showed some classy shots on short balls.

Notably, on reaching his half-century, he raised his bat to appreciate the crowd, the moment quickly went viral on the internet as fans noticed something unusual. In a video that went viral between the cricket aficionados, while Iyer was raising his bat, the fans noticed that the bat sticker had "hitman" written on it. This indicated that probably this bat belonged to none other than the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, who is also known by this nickname.

Meanwhile, speaking of the ongoing match, at the time of writing, the Men in Blue failed to capitalize on the recovery in the middle stages of the game and lost some quick wickets towards the end of the innings in a bid to up the ante of the scoring rate. Eventually, India finished with 249 runs in their 50 overs quota, owing to some electrifying fielding by the New Zealand side. Notably, the winner of today's match will get to face Australia in the semifinal of the Champions Trophy. While the losing side will clash against South Africa.
