Indian cricket star Suryakumar Yadav received a triumphant welcome at his Mumbai residence following India's historic ICC T20 World Cup victory in Barbados. The emotional homecoming marked a fitting end to a remarkable journey that saw India clinch its first ICC trophy in 13 years.
The Indian cricket team's victorious return to home soil began with their arrival in Delhi, greeted by enthusiastic fans and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The celebration continued in Mumbai with an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium, drawing thousands of passionate supporters.
Upon reaching his home, SKY was embraced by his family. His mother, adhering to Indian traditions, welcomed him with a garland and performed an aarti, placing a tikka on his forehead. The family had arranged for dhol performers, creating a festive atmosphere that saw Suryakumar and his wife Devisha Shetty dancing in celebration, proudly displaying his well-earned medal.

SKY scored 199 runs in T20 World Cup 2024
The 33-year-old's contributions to the Men in Blue's World Cup campaign were significant, scoring 199 runs in eight matches at an average of 28.42, including two half-centuries. His fielding also proved crucial, with several spectacular catches throughout the tournament.
The victorious Indian team was honoured at Wankhede Stadium, where they were presented with a prize money of INR 125 crore by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The event featured player speeches, performances, and a victory lap to the tune of 'Vande Mataram', India's national song.

In recognition of their outstanding achievement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde felicitated Mumbai's star cricketers, including skipper Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Yadav, at the State Assembly. The Chief Minister announced a generous prize of INR 11 crore for these players, acknowledging their vital roles in India's World Cup success.
