Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) mentor Dwayne Bravo caught up with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain and long-time friend MS Dhoni ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between the two decorated teams on Friday, April 11, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
CSK shared a video of the heartwarming reunion of the two icons of the sport on their official social media handles. In the video, Bravo met Ravindra Jadeja first, when Dhoni, who was getting some batting practice in the nets, jokingly remarked, "The traitor is here!"
Bravo had two stints with the Super Kings as a player. He played for the Men in Yellow from 2011 to 2015. The Caribbean all-rounder returned to the Chennai-based franchise in 2018 and served them till 2022. He also worked as the their bowling coach in IPL 2023 and 2024 before joining the Knights in a mentor's role ahead of this season.

On Thursday, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming announced that Dhoni would be leading the side for the rest of IPL 2025 after primary skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out due to an elbow injury. The former India skipper led CSK to five titles in the past. He could become the most successful captain in IPL history if he helps the Super Kings bag the coveted IPL title this year. Dhoni is currently tied with Rohit Sharma as captains for most IIPL titles, with both having five each.
CSK have not had an ideal start in IPL 2025. They won their opening fixture against Mumbai Indians before suffering four defeats on the trot. Meanwhile, KKR have two wins and three losses after playing five games. They are coming into this contest on the back of a gut-wrenching four-run defeat at home against Lucknow Super Giants.
