RCB’s campaign in IPL 2025 has been solid so far. They began by defeating defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets and then thrashing Chennai Super Kings by 50 runs. However, the Bengaluru-based franchise struggled in their third match, suffering an eight-wicket defeat against the Gujarat Titans at home. With their fourth fixture scheduled against MI, the Rajat Patidar-led side will be hoping to put their last performance behind them and come out fresh for this game.
Meanwhile, Kohli looked brilliant in the game against KKR, scoring an unbeaten 59. Despite underwhelming performances in the last two games, the 35-year-old will be hoping to bounce back at a venue where he’s produced memorable knocks in the past. Meanwhile, ahead of the clash, the veteran batter reflected on the bond with India teammate and MI opener Rohit Sharma.
“I think it’s a very natural thing to take place when you play with someone for so long, and you share so much of your insight of the game initially, you're learning from each other, you’re kind of growing in your careers at probably the same time, and you share all kind of queries and questions," Kohli said in a video posted by RCB on social media.
"So there’s a lot of back and forth that happens and also the fact that, you know, we worked very closely in terms of the leadership for the team, so there were always ideas discussed and more or less, we would end up on the same page in terms of the gut feel of that situation, there is a trust factor and do the job for the team," the RCB star added.
