On Day 5 of the first Test match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru between India and New Zealand, Virat Kohli showed his passionate efforts to motivate his team and spectators for India's pursuit of a nearly impossible.

As play resumed on the final day, the hosts knew they needed a miracle to turn the tide in their favor and restrict the visitors from chasing the low target of 107 runs.

From the first bowl of the morning, India's pace attack, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, showed their intent to make every delivery count. Bumrah struck gold in the very first over, dismissing New Zealand's captain Tom Latham.

Kohli, known for his on-field intensity, took the onus in regrouping both his teammates and the Chinnaswamy crowd. His fiery celebrations and constant efforts to pump up the spectators created an energetic atmosphere. During Bumrah's seventh over and Siraj's eighth, Kohli was seen passionately gesturing to the spectators, urging them to raise their voices in support of the bowlers.

The strategy seemed to pay dividends as Bumrah struck again, removing opener Devon Conway. Conway's dismissal for 17 runs off 39 balls, kept India's hopes alive. Despite these early breakthroughs, New Zealand steadied their ship, reaching 74/2 after 20 overs. With just 33 runs needed and eight wickets in hand, the visitors are in a comfortable position to clinch the victory and go one up in the series.
