Star India batting stalwart Virat Kohli displayed true sportsmanship and gesture towards the rising bowling sensation, Himanshu Sangwan after he claimed his wicket in the recent Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match played between Delhi and Railways. Notably, after dismissing by uprooting his off stump, many fans were annoyed with him.

But the kind gesture has surely taken the cricket world by surprise, after a video of Kohli giving an autograph on the ball by which he was dismissed as a token of recognition of Sangwan's terrific bowling, is spreading like wildfire. Fort he unversed, Virat Kohli had started well by hitting a boundary. However, his stay got cut short by an absolute peach of a delivery by Sangwan, who went ecstatic with his wild celebration after dismissing one of the best batters the country has ever produced.

The former Indian Captain who was making a comeback to his domestic side Delhi, after a long hiatus of 12 years, only managed to face 16 balls, which left several fans disappointed and also furious at the young Railways pacer. But Captain Ayush Badoni played a match-defining knock of 99 runs to help his side post a decent total and then bowlers did the job for Delhi to secure a mammoth win by a margin of an innings.

Meanwhile, reflecting on his bowling and the Ranji Trophy match, Himanshu Sangwan considered Virat Kohli's dismissal as the most cherished wicket of his young career. Interestingly, the 31-year-old did not shy away from admitting that the Indian stalwart was his inspiration like many youngsters felt the same way. Besides, Sangwan also revealed the plan behind Railway bowling against Delhi batters.

He pointed out that the team wanted to take advantage of the aggressive gameplay of their opponent and hoped to get the wicketkeeper and slip cordon under play during the match. Hence there was no special plan or strategy devised for Kohli to get the big wicket.

"It is the most important wicket of my life. It goes without saying. Virat Kohli is an inspiration to the whole country. First time in my life I saw so many people turning up for a Ranji Trophy game. It was special for all of us. We did not plan for one particular batter. The majority of the Delhi batters like to attack so our plan was stick to channel bowling and draw the outside edge," Sangwan was quoted as saying by India Today.
