WATCH: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ananya Panday's candid interaction on handling negativity

Cricketers and Bollywood personalities have had some great interactions with each other in the past, often even leading to a variety of speculations. In another such event, Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal and renowned Bollywood actress Ananya Panday interacted with each other during an event alongside a few other young achievers in India.

Ananya asked a question on mental health to Jaiswal and the young batter opened up on how he deals with negativity surrounding him, stating that tries not to think much about things he cannot control.

“Has there been something that you have read and it's completely thrown you off [before] a game, or a practice session, or anything like that?” asked Ananya.

“Nahi, main matlab sochta nahi hun (No, I do not think about these things),” Jaiswal replied.  

Impressed by the response, the 26-year-old actress expressed her admiration for Jaiswal and stated that she would want to emulate him and wished if she could also ignore the negativity surrounding her.

“I wish I could be like you. Mujhe bhi nahi sochna hai (I also do not want to think),” Ananya candidly said.

Jaiswal continued: “Toh main bas ye koshish karta hun ki kya mere control mei hai, mei kya kar sakta hun, mei apne upar focus kar sakta hun, apne dimag pe kaam kar sakta hun. Mera saara focus ek hi cheez pe rahta hai, ki mujhe kya karna hai. (I try to see what is in my control, what I can do? I focus on myself and how I can work on my mindset. All my focus is on one thing only)."

Speaking of Jaiswal, he has had a great start to his international career, having scored 1798 runs in 19 Tests at an average of 52.88 and 723 runs at an average of 36.15 in his T20 international career so far. He currently ranks number four in the longest format of the game and is a part of India's squad for the Champions Trophy 2025.
