Star India batter Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devisha came forward to react to her husband being appointed as India’s T20I skipper for the upcoming three-game series against Sri Lanka. In her Instagram story, Devisha wrote a heartfelt note, congratulating the ace batter on his achievement.
Devisha revealed how unexpected it was for both of them for Suryakumar Yadav to be announced as India’s skipper for the T20I series against Sri Lanka. However, she did heap praise on the 33-year-old for the hard work that he has put in over the years.
"When you started playing for India, we never imagined this day would come! But God is great and everyone gets the reward of their hard work and diligence in due time. So proud of you and how far you've come but this is just the beginning of your legacy. Long way to go," she posted on her story.

Furthermore, Suryakumar Yadav took to Instagram to post a picture of himself as well. The 33-year-old thanked the fans for their outpouring love over the years and how grateful he has been for everything that has been coming his way.
“Thank you so much for outpouring love, support and best wishes from you. Last few weeks have been nothing short of a dream and I am truly grateful," Suryakumar Yadav wrote in his Instagram post.
"Playing for the country is the most special feeling that I will never be able to describe in words. This new role brings with it, a lot of responsibility, excitement, and enthusiasm. I hope to keep receiving your support and blessings. All fame reaches God, God is great,” he further added.
Notably, Team India will take on Sri Lanka in a three-game T20I series and a three-game ODI series, the T20I series is all set to begin on July 27. Furthermore, veteran batter Rohit Sharma will lead the Men in Blue in the ODI series.
