'Well done' - Ravindra Jadeja reacts as Chetan Sakariya pulls off all-rounder's sword celebration
Ravindra Jadeja is currently recovering after knee surgery.
After being ruled out of the Asia Cup, it was confirmed that Ravindra Jadeja will also miss the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia following his knee injury. He later shared images of his surgery on social media where the all-rounder was spotted standing with crutches in the hospital.
Chetan Sakariya, who had a breakthrough season with Rajasthan Royals a couple of years back, took to Twitter to wish Jadeja a quick recovery. The 24-year-old was also spotted imitating Jadeja’s sword celebration that he often does after any noteworthy milestone.
“In case you are missing jaddubhai @imjadeja Here's wishing him a speedy recovery,” is what the speedster tweeted on Thursday (14th of September).
The all-rounder seem to enjoy Sakariya’s celebration as he replied with “Hahah well done” on his post.
BCCI expressed their annoyance following Ravindra Jadeja’s injury
Jadeja’s injury is a massive blow for the Indian team as he is one such player who provides the much-needed balance in the Indian squad. With him being ruled out of the Asia Cup, the team management introduced Rishabh Pant in the middle order and that experiment didn’t go well as India lost two out of their three super four matches.
India also needed a southpaw in the middle and with him being injured, the team might just suffer in Australia as Rishabh Pant’s form is currently not good enough. In the meantime, it was reported that Jadeja suffered an injury while playing an adventure sport in Dubai. Now, keeping the World Cup in mind, the team management expressed their anger on the subject.
“We are not happy with Jadeja's injury. He should have kept the World Cup in mind while doing adventurous activities. But he was not responsible and did not think that the World Cup is on the way. We are not happy with this action of Jadeja,” a BCCI source stated earlier.
There currently is no news on when he can possibly return back to action but he thanked everyone for supporting him in this dire situation.
“The surgery was successful. There are many people to thank for their support and involvement - BCCI, my teammates, support staff, physios, doctors and the fans. I will start my rehab soon and try to get back to cricket soon as I can. Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes,” said the 33-year-old on his social media account.
