West Indies announce preparatory squad for India Test series
Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the set-up for WI.
The West Indies are all set to take on the Indian team for the upcoming multi-format series. It is worth noting that sides take on each other in the series that is scheduled to begin on July 12. Notably, both sides face each other in two Test matches, three ODIs, and will finish the series with five T20Is.
Ahead of the series, the Cricket West Indies came forward to announce their 18-man squad for the preparation camp ahead of the start of the two-match Test series. Notably, many major players from the West Indies’ line-up are missing, as most of them are competing in the ongoing ODI World Cup Qualifiers.
The camp will begin on June 30 in Antigua as Kraigg Brathwaite leads the Windies. The 18-man squad featured many names like Kemar Roach, Jermaine Blackwood, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Rahkeem Cornwall, and many more.
Cricket West Indies took to Twitter to announce their 18-man squad for the camp. "CWI Men’s Selection Panel today named the 18-member squad for the preparation camp ahead of the start of the two-match Test Series against India in the Caribbean. Camp starts at CCG in Antigua on Friday, 30 June. The team travels to Dominica on Sunday 9 July" Cricket West Indies tweeted.
Ahead of the series, the Indian team also announced their squad for the Test series. It is worth noting that India will be travelling to the Caribbean in the first week of July as they begin their preparations for the Test series and will be keen on familiarising themselves with the conditions.
The Indian squad features a star-studded lineup with the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and even many new names like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
