'What's your problem?'- Tempers flare as Jos Buttler confronts Rassie van der Dussen during second ODI
South Africa beat England by five wickets in the second game to seal the ODI series.
South Africa took an unassailable 2-0 lead after successfully chasing down a stiff target of 343 against England in the second One Day International at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Sunday, January 29. The hard-fought victory has helped the Proteas in keeping their 2023 ODI World Cup qualification hopes alive.
The players of both teams were under tremendous pressure with the series on the line and that led to a tense moment between English skipper Jos Buttler and South African batter Rassie van der Dussen.
Buttler was visibly upset after van der Dussen seemingly blocked him from taking a catch and he did not hesitate from confronting the Proteas batter. Even van der Dussen was heard saying something during the argument.
In a video posted on Twitter, Buttler was seen pushing van der Dussen saying, “Just relax. I am trying to catch the ball. Huh? What’s your problem Rassie?”
The on-field umpire's timely intervention ensured that the matter did not escalate further as he shouted, “Ok calm down”.

It remains to be seen whether the match referee will be taking any action against the duo and impose fines on them for their actions.
South Africa seal the ODI series
Coming back to the contest, England posted 342/7 courtesy of an unbeaten 81-ball 94 from skipper Jos Buttler. However, a determined South Africa responded well in their chase as Quinton de Kock and captain Temba Bavuma laid a solid foundation with a 77-run opening stand.
Bavuma single-handedly anchored the run chase and made the English bowlers toil hard as they decided to pick wickets from the other end. After De Kock’s dismissal, Bavuma was involved in a crucial 97-run second-wicket stand along with van der Dussen who scored a run-a-ball 38, which included three fours and a maximum.
Bavuma scored a century and was dismissed for a 102-ball 109. Nonetheless, the rock-solid duo of David Miller (58*) and Marco Jansen (32*) added the finishing touches as the Proteas won by five wickets.
