Day 2 of the first Test between West Indies and India saw the visitors put up yet another strong performance with the bat as the team surged to a commanding 162-run lead over the hosts, closing on 312/2. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young newcomer who opened the innings for India alongside seasoned skipper Rohit Sharma, showed tremendous poise and skill as he remained undefeated on 143.

Before stumps were called, Virat Kohli too looked comfortable on the crease as he remained unbeaten scoring 36 off 96 deliveries. The former India skipper walked in to bat after Rohit and Shubman Gill's dismissals, while Jaiswal, who had opened the innings, continued to bat the entire day.

In the third session of Day 2, Virat Kohli grabbed eyeballs when he animatedly celebrated a boundary. After facing 80 deliveries in the innings and struggling to score runs quickly, Kohli finally managed to find the gap and hit his first four of the day. As the ball crossed the ropes, Kohli was seen pumped up and celebrated the shot in a rather fun manner.
