India's opening fixture of Asia Cup 2023 against arch-rivals Pakistan ended in a No Result as rain Gods allowed fans to enjoy only India's batting. The seven-time champions locked horns against Nepal on Monday, September 4, in Pallekele, in search of two points that would take them through to the Super Four stage.

India invited Nepal to bat first. The openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh forged an enterprising 65-run partnership as India dropped three catches. After Shardul Thakur took the first wicket, things started changing in favour of the 'Men in Blue'. Ravindra Jadeja was introduced in the 14th over and he went on to pick the wickets of Bhim Sharki, the Nepal captain, Rohit Paudel, and Kushal Malla (3/40) in his quota of 10 overs, as the Asia Cup debutants struggled against the accuracy and subtle variations of Jadeja.

Gujarat Titans shared a post, congratulating the Saurashtra cricketer for picking up a three-for.

Meanwhile, opener Aasif Sheikh, who saw his teammates perishing from the non-striker's end, went on to score a sedate half-century. He was eventually dismissed for 58 off 97 balls by Mohammed Siraj, as Virat Kohli took a glorious one-handed catch after timing his jump to perfection.

Ravindra Jadeja's last ball boundary in IPL 2023 final helped CSK win a thriller against GT

While the Titans lauded Jadeja for his efforts against Nepal, it was the same Jadeja who denied them their second consecutive title in the Indian Premier League. The IPL 2023 final was a closely contested affair between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. It was a high-scoring encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which went down to the last ball.

Mohit Sharma bowled the last over with CSK requiring 13 off the final over to win a record-equaling fifth IPL title. Mohit conceded just three runs off the first four balls. Jadeja hit the fifth ball for a six to bring the equation down to four runs needed off one ball. Pressure got the better of the bowler as he bowled a full toss on the leg-stump, which Jadeja tickled past short fine for a four to send the CSK fans into a frenzy as the team clinched a record-equalling fifth title.
