Prasad stated that Kohli is indeed selfish but in a positive manner. He emphasized that Kohli's self-centeredness stems from his dedication to fulfilling the dreams of a billion people, continuously striving for excellence, setting new benchmarks, and ensuring his team's success.

Virat Kohli notched up his 49th century, matching Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most hundreds in ODIs. Additionally, he reached the milestone of 6,000 runs at home and 3,000 runs against South Africa across all formats of international cricket. The ravishing batter was honoured with the Player of the Match award as India triumphed over South Africa by a staggering 243-run margin in the ODI World Cup 2023 encounter.
With this victory, India secured their position at the top of the points table, irrespective of the outcome of their final match against the Netherlands at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Before this, India advanced to the semifinals by dominating Sri Lanka with a 302-run win at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During that match, Kohli contributed 88 runs before Dilshan Madushanka dismissed him.
