‘You are and will always remain my younger brother’ - Parth Jindal bids farewell to Rishabh Pant

Delhi Capitals failed to retain Rishabh Pant after the two parties didn’t agree on terms. The keeper-batter later clarified that it wasn’t about money but didn’t reveal much detail about his partition with DC. In the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Lucknow Super Giants signed the India international for a staggering INR 27 crore - with that, Pant became the costliest player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

LSG and Sunrisers Hyderabad were in contention before the prior bid of INR 20.75 crore. The Capitals decided to use their Right to Match (RTM) card, but Lucknow increased their bid to INR 27 crore, which Delhi couldn’t match. Pant went on to join the Super Giants and is very likely to be named the new captain of the franchise.

In the meantime, DC co-owner Parth Jindal sent out a statement stating that he tried everything to make Pant happy in Delhi but in the end, it wasn’t meant to be. He revealed to be sad to see the cricketer leave, and mentioned that he hopes to reunite with his 'younger brother' someday in the future.

Notably, Pant played 111 matches for Delhi and scored 3284 runs at a strike rate of 148.93. He led the franchise for four years, but the franchise hasn’t been successful during this time.
