The Eliminator match of the Legends League Cricket 2023 between Gujarat Giants and India Capitals played on Wednesday, December 06 is making headlines for all the wrong reasons as former India cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Sreesanth had a go at each other during the match. The incident took place after the sixth over of the first innings after Gambhir had scored three boundaries in the first two overs bowled by Sreesanth.

The duo got involved in a verbal spat and had to be separated by the umpires and their teammates. Following the incident, Sreesanth launched a scathing attack on Gambhir as he first uploaded a video right after the match where he called him ‘Mr fighter’ and later accused him of calling him (Sreesanth) fixer.

In another major development, the fast bowler has now commented on a photograph uploaded by Gambhir earlier today (Thursday, 7 December) where he can be seen smiling wearing the Indian jersey. Under the comment section of the Instagram post captioned ‘Smile when the world is all about attention!’, Sreesanth accused Gambhir of exceeding the boundaries of a sportsman.

He further called him out for engaging in conflicts with every other cricketer and asked him if he’s above the Supreme Court to label him a ‘fixer’. The Kerala-born cricketer also went on to call Gambhir ‘arrogant and utterly classless’ for using the f-word for him and the umpires.

Sreesanth's life ban was quashed by the Supreme Court

Notably, Sreesanth was handed a life ban by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) for his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal during the IPL 2013. However, the Supreme Court reduced it to seven years in 2019 and the 40-year-old also made a return to the domestic circuit after his ban ended.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth’s wife Bhuvneshwari has also come out in support of her husband and called Gambhir’s behaviour ‘shocking’ for stooping to this level despite playing with Sreesanth for a number of years for India.
