Sara Tendulkar, daughter of legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has been in the news for various reasons in the recent times. She was recently troubled by a man who threatened her with his proposals. And now, Sara finds her name being dragged in an issue in which she had no role to play whatsoever.
A software engineer from Andheri, Mumbai, created the fake profile of Sara Tendulkar and posted derogatory messages on the Twitter handle. He also posted several updates defaming the NCP Chief Sharad Pawar. The Twitter handle went by the name of @sarasachin_rt. Sachin’s personal assistant complained about the issue and the Cyper Police have tracked down the techie.
The 39-year old culprit, Nitin Sishode, was arrested from his residence in Andheri. Sishode is a dealer of second-hand laptops and mobile phones. He has been booked for impersonation, cheating and defamation under IPC and the IT Act. He will be in police custody till February 9. “The Twitter handle which goes by the login ID @sarasachin_rt has uploaded several comments on Indian politics,” an officer revealed.
Commenting on the Twitter handle, many defaming messages were tweeted from the same. “Everyone knows that SP looted Maharashtra state but (it is) little known that he tried (it at the) Centre too,” one of the tweets had read. A senior cop further added that the cops found out that the account was fake and soon got in to the man hunt.
“After going through the derogatory remarks and finding that it was a fake handle, we registered an offence and traced the IP address to Sishode’s house in Andheri. With technical help, we also got confirmation that a particular router was used by Sishode,” the senior official noted as per the quotes in Times of India.
Sidhode’s plea in the case
Meanwhile, Ajay Dubey, the advocate of Sishode affirmed that his client did not post updates on the fake Sara Tendulkar profile. He remarked that someone else bought the laptop from him and posted the messages. “My client deals in second-hand computers and laptops. Though he told the police that somebody who bought a laptop from him may have uploaded the derogatory remarks, the police refused to listen and arrested him,” he said.
