The sixth edition of Bangladesh Premier League is all set to get underway early next year. All teams have already begun their preparations with the contract signings and drafts ahead of the upcoming season. A lot of international stars are expected to feature in the tournament. It is the Rangpur Riders who ended up with the trophy last season and will go in with a clear intention to defend their title in 2019.
While the defending champions have managed to rope in the services of South African legend AB de Villiers, the Sylhet Sixers are also building a strong core of international players. The latest addition to the squad being a left-arm medium pacer, Sohail Tanvir who has been retained by the team management. He’ll join the likes of David Warner, Martin Guptill and Nepal sensation Sandeep Lamichhane in the unit.
Tanvir excited to be retained by Sylhet
The Sixers didn’t have a great campaign last year as they failed to make it to the Qualifiers. However, this time around, the franchise is leaving no stone unturned in solidifying the team combination. Tanvir was their highest wicket-taker in the 2011 season of BPL with 13 wickets at a fascinating average of 15.53. Former Pakistani legend Waqar Younis is going to be the coach.
