Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor always manages to rake up headlines courtesy her comments on social media regarding the political happenings in the country. The daughter of well-known actor Anil Kapoor has been quite vocal regarding the Anti-Citizenship Amendment Act [CAA] campaigns that are rampant in the country since the past month.

However, in doing so, the actress may have spilled the beans on his father Anil Kapoor’s relationship with terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Sonam had initially tweeted about the shooting that took place after a man fired two shots in the air. Several questions have been asked around the authenticity of the ‘shooting’.

Sonam tweeted, “This is something that I never imagined would happen in India. Stop this divisive dangerous politics. It fuels HATE. If you believe yourself to be a Hindu then understand that the religion is about Karma and dharma and this is not either of those.”

Post the tweet, Sonam was hurled by many questions by journalists. One journalist Ashok Shrivastava asked Sonam that she is generally vocal about her opinions, and hence she must also tell the country, what relation her father had with terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Shrivastava taunted Sonam Kapoor for her previous tweet and asked whether that relationship between her father Anil Kapoor and Dawood Ibrahim was of ‘Karma’ or ‘Dharma’.

Sonam Kapoor admits her father’s relationship with Dawood Ibrahim

However, Sonam, in a rather surprising reply, went on to admit that her father’s relationship with Dawood Ibrahim was neither of Karma (deeds) nor of dharma (religion) but of cricket. Kapoor revealed how her father Anil went to a cricket match with Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor in Sharjah to watch a cricket match in the 1990s.

“He went to a cricket match with Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor. And was in a box to see it. I think you need to stop pointing fingers and there are three that point back at you. I hope lord Ram can forgive you for being evil and spreading violence,” Kapoor replied. Dawood Ibrahim, the prime accused of the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, was a regular feature in cricket matches held in Sharjah back in ‘the 1990s.
