Rashid Khan has been one of the star performers for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022 as he has played a vital role in the franchise finishing at the top of the points table in the league stage. The Hardik Pandya-led side went one step further by reaching the finals as well after winning the Qualifier 1 against Rajasthan Royals on the back of David Miller’s unbeaten 68 off 38 balls including a thunderous finish in the final over with three consecutive sixes from the South African against Prasidh Krishna.

Interestingly, Rashid has been quite good with both bat and ball this season and has enjoyed his role as an all-rounder in the Gujarat setup rather than just being the leg-spinner. The 23-year-old has picked up 18 wickets so far in the season at an outstanding economy rate of 6.73 and has finished off games as well down the order. The Afghanistan lad has proved to be a sensational draft ahead of the mega auction this year by the Gujarat Titans so far.

He continued his impressive form into the playoff stages as well, recording figures of 0/15 in four overs at an unbelievable economy rate of 3.75 in a high-scoring game. He did not concede a single four or a six as well, and no wonder, he is deemed to be one of the best spinners going around in the shorter format at the moment around the world.

Meanwhile, after the victory, Gujarat Titans tweeted about having four days’ interval ahead of their next clash in the all-important finals of IPL 2022 and wondered what could be done in the meantime. Rashid, who likes to entertain the fans with his humour, responded to the question from the Gujarat Titan’s Twitter handle by asking them to go to sleep.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans will next play the winner of Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2022 Playoffs in the finals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Qualifier 2 will take place between Rajasthan Royals and the winner of the Eliminator which is set to take place on May 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
