Two Indian batting legends Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly had a great time off the field in the commentary box during the second ODI between India and Australia at Eden Gardens. The Prince of Kolkata and the Nawab of Najafgarh were seen in a healthy conversation in a behind the scenes video from inside the comm box. Both Sehwag and Sourav have been great friends as the former rose to prominence after the latter promoted him up the order to open the innings for India.
Recently, Sehwag’s “lack of setting” comment on a news channel was the talk of the town for various reasons. The former Indian opener stated that he couldn’t get the job of the head coach of the Indian national team since he had no setting in the BCCI. Many questions were raised against the board and its Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), who appointed Ravi Shastri as the head coach.
Sourav as a member of the CAC then cleared the queries and rubbished Viru’s comments saying, “I’ve got nothing to say. Sehwag spoke foolishly (bokar moton boleche),” while talking to PTI.
He had to later clarify his statement as it sounded really rude of the former Indian captain to call his teammate that. “My quote on Sehwag completely false ..right quote ..Sehwag very dear to me .will speak to him soon,” he wrote on Twitter.
I’m going to ask Dada
The conversation between the two stalwarts of the Indian cricket continued on the commentary panel during the second game between India and the Aussies on Thursday. Both Sehwag and Ganguly shared a funny moment in a video from the commentary box. “My dear friend… who accuses us,” said Dada with a smile on his face as he wrapped his arm around Viru.
However, in the video, Sehwag had a question for Ganguly. “I’m going to ask Dada the question. He didn’t give me setting only,” he said.
This was not the first time that the two Indian cricketers were seen sharing a moment while being on the commentary. Earlier in the Champions Trophy 2017 in England also, Ganguly had a great answer when Sehwag questioned his running abilities. “You should check your statistics and stop talking ill about others. You still have to give an interview in front of me (referring to the India coach job),” replied Sourav.
