The Windies will tour India between October and November for a bilateral series involving three Tests, five One Day Internationals, and three T20 Internationals. The Test series will be hosted during Diwali after which Mumbai, Guwahati, Kochi, Indore, and Pune will host the five ODIs. The teams will then lock horns in the T20 series.

Eden Gardens- The venue

The first couple of T20s will be played Chennai and Kanpur. As per reports in Zee News, Kolkata will be the host for the third game of the series on November 4. Sourav Ganguly, the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), recently made the announcement to the media. “We will host the Caribbean Team for the one-off T20 international at the Eden Gardens,” Sourav Ganguly said.

The former Indian skipper also announced that Eden Gardens might also host the playoffs in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) if Pune fails to stage the games. Currently, the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) has been awarded the Eliminator and Qualifier 1. The tournament begins with the match between Chennai Super Kings and the Mumbai Indians on April 7.

An impressive tri-nation series for India

India has done reasonably well thus far in the T20 triangular tournament also featuring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. They started their campaign with a defeat against the hosts. However, they stormed back and registered three successive wins against their Asian counterparts. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Washington Sundar have impressed with their skills in their respective departments.

India will now face Bangladesh in the final of the series at the iconic R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. Before the start of the series, the management decided to rest quite a few of their regular players and gave their fringe players an opportunity to display their skills. However, they haven’t disappointed one bit and will be looking to help India lift the trophy.
