Former Indian captain and President of Cricket Association of Bengal, Sourav Ganguly, in a recent interview went ahead and claimed that Indian ace batsman, Virat Kohli, still has a long way to go if he has to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record, among other things.

Virat Kohli recently brought up his 30th ODI ton and already has 47 International centuries to his name. With his century in the 5th ODI of the series, he is now the quickest to bring up 30 ODI tons in 186 innings only, breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting.

“Virat has to cross a long path to break Sachin’s record. He is a remarkable player and I wish him all the very best for future,” quoted Sourav Ganguly when asked about his chances to break Sachin’s record. “Both of them are from different generations, so facing a bowler of a below par standards is not in Virat’s hands,” justified the Prince of Kolkata according to Xtratime.

Ganguly on India’s 9-0 whitewash against Lanka

“The tour in Australia, South Africa and England would be much tougher but the way India has beaten Sri Lanka 9-0 is just remarkable. The team is doing really well in last two years against West Indies on their home soil, as well as they played extraordinary cricket against New Zealand, England and Australia at home. This is a very good team,” claimed Ganguly when asked about his thoughts on India’s rich form in all formats of the game.

On Bengal Premier League

By the looks of it, following the path of KSCA and TNCA, West Bengal is also set to have their own league.”We are taking with star and they are ready to telecast the matches too. We are only thinking about the schedule of play. As you know, nowadays the cricketers always have a packed schedule,” conclude
