Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has stated that Yuzvendra Chahal is one of those players who is a product of the Indian Premier League. The IPL, that has seen a lot of top performances in recent times has also been privy to many players being selected in the Indian team. However, that was deferred following a few weak performances coupled with the talent coming in from the domestic scene as well.
Chahal, who plays under Kohli for the IPL outfit Royal Challengers Bangalore took six wickets on the day as the Indians went ahead secured a win in the final T20 international against England in Bangalore. Ganguly was also quick to point out the importance of finding talent in the IPL as well.
“Chahal is also a Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler. So, he knows this surface as much as anybody else does. T20 cricket has been a product of the IPL and Chahal has been a product of the IPL. He has got better and better by bowling in the IPL.
“He knows exactly what to do. It’s a terrific effort. IPL has had great effects on India’s T20 side and you have seen a lot of players come out of that format and do well for India,” Ganguly to India Today.

The former opener also went on to add that the Indians were simply clinical on the night and especially the manner in which they snuffed England out on the day.
“India were outstanding tonight. After that over of Jasprit Bumrah in Nagpur in the previous game, they were a different side. They just smashed England out. When you get 202 run on the board, very seldom you lose cricket matches. England was not good and they haven’t been good for a long, long while except 2012.”
