Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar two of the biggest names in India cricket played most of their cricket together. From being a part of a national camp as 14-year olds to opening the batting together for India and stitching some memorable partnerships. Their first interaction was when Sachin played a prank on him flooding his room with water. They also went on to share the same room while playing for India and Ganguly shared an instance where he was scared.
On a tour of England, they were put up in the same room and after a long day while Ganguly went to sleep peacefully. He got up in the middle of the night to see Sachin walking in the room. Half asleep he thought his roommate was just going to the washroom and went back to sleep.
When he saw the same thing happen again the next night, he got up, Tendulkar walked around, then sat on the chair for a while and came back to sleep on the bed again. This scared him a bit and Dada now wanted to know what was happening.
“We were roommates in England, once at night I got up and saw that he was walking around, I thought he would’ve gone to the washroom or something. I just turned the other side and slept off. I didn’t ask him anything the next day,” Ganguly said on Breakfast with Champions.
It was well past midnight and sounds quite scary but he somehow went back to sleep and was curious enough to inquire about it the following day.
“Next night again he was walking, I sat up in the bed to see what he was trying doing around 1-1:30 AM. He was just going around in the room, then sit on the chair and then just come back to the bed and sleep. I told him the next day, you’re scaring me what do you do at night. He then confessed that he had the habit of sleepwalking,” the former Indian captain said.
