Kolkata Knight Riders have been a great side in the past couple of years in the IPL. Gautam Gambhir has led the side in great fashion. However, this time around, KKR will miss the services of Gambhir as he would be turning up for the Delhi Daredevils. KKR did not get an established captain in the 2018 IPL Auction. So, the replacement for Gambhir was not announced.

Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, and Chris Lynn were considered to be the frontrunners for the post. But the team has been left worried after Chris Lynn suffered a shoulder dislocation on Wednesday during the T20I match between Australia and New Zealand at Auckland. Lynn was set to be a key member of the KKR setup as he can provide the team with good starts and take away the game in just 5-6 overs.

Disappointed not to go to the PSL: Chris Lynn

The injury has rued Lynn out of the Pakistan Super League 2018. KKR are yet to receive an update on his IPL participation. India cricket legend Sourav Ganguly, who was a part of KKR for their first three IPL seasons, is now willing to discuss the players in the current Knight Riders setup who has the ability to become the captain. “I stay in Kolkata and I keep track of everything happening in Kolkata, but I have to discuss who will be the captain of Knight Riders,” said Ganguly in the promo released by Star Sports.

“I’m disappointed to not go to the Pakistan Super League as planned (this week), but I’ll now focus on rehabilitation and working as hard as I can, with the hope to still take part in the Indian Premier League later this year,” Lynn was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

The TV talk show will be aired on the 25th of February. The special show called ‘Knight Club’ will air on Sunday at 10 pm IST on Star Sports Hindi 1/HD.
