South Africa likely to field fab four of fast bowling against Zimbabwe

Team South Africa is all set to host neighbours Zimbabwe in the first ever day-night four-day Test match. The Boxing Day Test will be played at the St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. The venue has already seen some serious renovation ahead of the big game. The match is going to be historic first for sure. Also, it will be a preparatory ground for the Proteas side before they host the strong Indian team in January next year.

Ahead of the match, there are predictions going on about the combination of the South African eleven. The likes Dale Steyn, Chris Morris, and AB de Villiers are expected to be back in Test whites. But in another important proposition for the match, the fans could well see the fab four of South African bowling attack being unleashed together.

Well, the fab four among the pace bowlers are set to roar against the Zimbabweans. If this happens, then Dale Steyn, Vernon Philander, Morne Morkel, and Kagiso Rabada could all be in the playing eleven for the match.

Speaking about Kagiso Rabada, the young pacer has been a revelation for team South Africa. He has hardly missed any match due to fitness concerns ever since he made his Test debut against India in the year 2015. He has 22 Test matches to his name. All other young pacers, who made their debut at approximately the same time, have succumbed to injuries at some or the other stage.

Meanwhile, Morne Morkel is trying to reinstate his position in the South African team. He has been a chief tormentor of Indian batsmen in the past and hence would want to get some match practice before the Indian series. Vernon Philander needs no introduction as he has been the prime bowler for South Africa in Tests in the recent times. Lastly, the senior statesman, Dale Steyn, will be back in the Test whites after a long injury layoff.
