Bangladesh’s batting in the 2nd Test lasted about one day as they were bowled out in one and a half sessions on the 3rd day in the following-on innings for just 172 runs. Earlier the Bangladeshi batsmen could manage just 147 runs in their 1st innings on day two in reply to South Africa’s mammoth total of 573/4 decl.

3 – Number of 10-wicket match hauls Kagiso Rabada has taken in Test cricket; the 2nd most for any player before turning 23. Waqar Younis had four 10-wicket match hauls before turning 23 but he had bagged only three when he was 21 years and 136 days old (Rabada’s current age).
3 – Rabada’s three 10-wicket match hauls in Tests are the joint 3rd most for a South African. Dale Steyn has five 10-fers while Makhaya Ntini had four such hauls. Allan Donald also picked up three ten-wicket match hauls in Tests.
5 – South Africa won all the five Test matches they played at Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval. Only England (6) at Chester-le-Street have won more Tests with a win% of 100.
7 – Number of 5-wicket hauls in Test cricket for Kagiso Rabada. These are the most 5-fers for any pace bowler in Tests since his debut in November 2015. Rabada’s seven Test 5-fers are also the most among South African players in the last four years.
8 – Number of innings margin wins South Africa have over Bangladesh in Test cricket. These are the most innings wins for them against any team.The South African team has seven innings wins in Tests against New Zealand.
22 – Matches Rabada needed to complete 100 wickets in Test cricket. He is the joint 3rd fastest among South African players to reach 100 Test wickets. Vernon Philander took 19 Test matches while Dale Steyn got there in 20.
22y 136d – Kagiso Rabada became the 5th youngest player and the youngest South African to complete 100 wickets in Test cricket. Kapil Dev (21y 25d) was the youngest while no other South African completed the milestone before turning 24.
254 – South Africa’s winning margin of innings and 254 runs in this Test is their biggest victory margin in terms of innings in Test cricket. Their previous highest was innings and 224 runs against Sri Lanka in Cape Town, 2001.
