South Africa aimed to keep the series alive and were able to do so by winning the 4th ODI match by one wicket. AB de Villiers won the toss and opted to bowl first and his bowlers proved that decision right by taking 6 England wickets for just 108 runs but with Joe Root’s patient and skillful century and Chris Woakes’ and Adil Rashid’s contributions England set a target of 263 runs for them to chase over.

In reply, South Africa lost Hashim Amla early but with Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis’ 50 runs stand helped them to stay in the match but after that they lost wickets quickly and at one stage their score was 143 runs for the loss of 5 wickets but handy knocks from three key all-rounders Farhaan Behardein, David Wiese, and Chris Morris helped them win the 4th ODI match.
