South Africa crushed Ireland in the one-off ODI at Benoni ahead of their 5-match ODI series against Australia. Ireland, who elected to bowl first, soon realised their mistake as the South African openers made merry of its toothless bowling attack.
Some big hitting towards the end ensured the hosts posted 354/5 in their 50 overs. In reply, Ireland could only get to 148 before getting bowled by the 31st over, losing the game by a massive 206 run margin.
