3. Paine and Co. taunting Markram over de Villiers’ run-out
The early fall of wickets of Dean Elgar and Hashim Amla meant the onus was on AB de Villiers once again in the mammoth chase. He was in the flow as well after staying unbeaten in the first innings by scoring 70. But he could not score even a run and bagged a golden duck after involving in a mix-up with his partner Markram. The ball was punched towards backward square leg where Warner was stationed and De Villiers went for a run only to be denied by his partner.
But it was too late with the Warner throwing the ball and Lyon disturbing the stumps sent back the best batsman in the South African line-up. While it was a huge blow for the home team, Australian players tried to get under the skin of Markram by taunting him about running out the best player in the World. Even the wicket-keeper Tim Paine admitted in the press conference that they threw some words at the batsman and tried to unsettle him.
